Blue Sky Solo Show Award

Congratulations, Laura Beth ReeseBlue Sky, Oregon Center for the Photographic Arts Solo Exhibition Award winner for the series #influenced, from Critical Mass 2024! Every year, Blue Sky hosts a Critical Mass Solo Exhibition in April. This year’s exhibition dates are April 3 – 26, 2025.

About the series:
“#influenced” explores the phenomenon that occurs at the intersection of celebrity, social media, and consumerism: the influencer. Influencers acquire fame not through talent but other means, like appearing on reality television. Using social media, influencers market themselves and create lucrative lifestyle brands through their partnerships with companies who pay them to promote products on their feeds. Influencer income is directly tied to the number of followers they have on any given social media platform. So, to be successful, they must create compelling public personas and tightly curated aesthetics to maintain their follower count.

Join us on Wednesday, December 4th, at 7 pm EST, at PROJECTIONS as we celebrate Critical Mass Night.

Three esteemed photographers—Stefanos Paikos, Amy Gaskin, and Nina Hamberg—will present their work, each earning a spot in the 2024 Critical Mass Top 50. This event promises to be an inspiring evening, showcasing a diverse array of creative and thought-provoking photography from these visionary artists.
